LC-MS technology is an extremely powerful method that can be used to identify a wide range of molecules quickly and precisely. We have been using it for years to analyse a wide range of molecules - whether in trace analysis for the detection of genotoxic impurities or in the structural elucidation of unknown degradation products in the context of stability studies.
Our new, state-of-the-art LC-MS system from Sciex opens up completely new possibilities in the analysis of biomolecules: the novel fragmentation technology allows a comprehensive characterisation of proteins, oligonucleotides or lipids. But also in the trace analysis of small molecules, the new system enables a significantly higher sensitivity and precision, so that in future even more precise statements can be made about impurities in the (ultra) trace range.
